1. Introduction
NoiseCheck ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use the NoiseCheck app.
2. Microphone Usage & Acoustic Data (RECORD_AUDIO)
NoiseCheck requires access to your device's microphone solely for real-time acoustic signal processing:
- Real-time DSP Only: Audio input (PCM audio stream) is processed purely in volatile device memory (RAM) to calculate Root Mean Square (RMS) decibel (dB SPL) levels and frequency exposure statistics.
- No Audio Storage: NoiseCheck does NOT record, save, encode, compress, or store your voice, conversations, or ambient sound to local storage or remote servers.
- No Audio Transmission: No audio streams or sound snippets are ever transmitted over the network or shared with third parties.
3. Information We Collect
- Measurement Metrics (Optional): If you choose to save a session, only calculated numerical data (average dBA, peak dBA, min dBA, duration, timestamp, selected category/context) is stored in your device's local database or synced to your private Supabase profile if signed in.
- Account Information (Optional): If you sign in via Google OAuth, we receive your basic public profile information (Name, Email, Profile Picture URL) strictly to authenticate your account and synchronize your saved measurement history.
- Diagnostic & Advertising Data: NoiseCheck uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements. Google AdMob may collect non-personally identifiable device identifiers, IP addresses, and diagnostic crash logs in accordance with Google's Advertising Policies.
4. How We Use Information
- To display live sound level readings and noise exposure recommendations.
- To allow you to review historical noise measurement sessions.
- To provide optional cloud backup of your saved measurement history.
- To maintain, protect, and optimize app performance and reliability.
5. Third-Party Services
NoiseCheck integrates the following third-party service providers:
- Supabase: Cloud database and authentication provider (TLS encrypted data transit and encrypted storage).
- Google AdMob: Advertising platform (Google Privacy Policy).
- Google Sign-In: OAuth authentication service (How Google uses data).
6. User Data Deletion & Account Erasure
In accordance with Google Play Developer Policies, users have the absolute right to request the permanent deletion of their account and all associated measurement records.
